Earth Antiquity
A poem by Leah Reagan
Stores rich with treasures of old
Each relic time's creation
Gather round and gaze while the stories unfold
The building of earth's foundation
Hemmed into the rock blanketed with dust
History catches light
In te search for truth and beauty breaking the Earth's crust
The fire swells when given breath at the sun's cue did ignite
A swirling tale of majesty deep royal purple amethyst
Another pure flame, hardest stone
Sapphire, tourmaline, beryl, quartz each by a different color kissed
To decorate mercy's throne
Foreknown and with such care verdant forest transformed
Flowers leaves carnage become
Ague a diadem to proclaim and adorn
Set deliberate as the Jeweler's angelic audience hums
Fossil encrusted crown of crystal golden splendor
The fruit of an ancient seed
Planted, harvested, now weaved so tender
A story of glory for the eyes to see
Assemble, create from what I do not own
Humble servant only to give
With Earth's antiquity bring glory to your throne
For this purpose do I live.
